With self-trust comes a self-belief that you are able to exist and thrive in a range of different situations, personal relationships, the professional environment, social interaction, family life, and even the unknown. We tend to believe that in order to become confident we must push through our fears in the hope that they will eventually disappear. Nothing could be further from the truth. Here are some insights into what I have observed in myself and working with hundreds of clients to become the most confident version of themselves. Confidence is not a mindset issue, it's a state of being achieved from healing our own inner traumas. Learning how to be confident is important in every part of your life, but there are some instances where it’s crucial, especially at times when you feel like giving up. If you are a leader and in a position that requires being convincing and trustworthy, being confident is non-negotiable. No one will follow a leader who appears unsure of themselves. A lack of confidence can seriously impact your ability to put together a winning team and guide them to achieving your shared goals. If you want to learn how to build confidence, you must be willing to change your state. Your state is essentially your mood at any given time of day. Your mood is influenced by how you feel about yourself at that point in time. The good news is you can change your state at any time no matter what’s going on around you as long as you know how to do it. Here are the main principles of building confidence and certainty that anyone can use to their advantage and some real-life examples to help you apply them in any area of your life. In the research, the idea of confidence is usually referred to as self-esteem. When we have positive self-esteem, we tend to have relatively more positive thoughts about ourselves and fewer negative thoughts. As a result of these positive thoughts, it's easier for us to take action on our own behalf and act in ways that portray confidence. That means that confidence originates in the mind, with the types of thoughts and beliefs we have about ourselves. So let's take a look at the types of thoughts and beliefs we need to develop in order to have more confidence.
